INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP

Alumni MemberOpen to graduates of NIE / NTU or its affiliated institutions such as TTC (Teachers' Training College). Students who have attended external consultancy programmes at NIE should apply under the "Personal Members" category instead.

Require document:
A copy of the degree or diploma awarded.
1 year from the applicable registration date.S$50 per annum plus GST.
Full-Time Teaching and Research Staff from IHLsFree membership is available to full-time teaching or research staff of government-funded Institutions of Higher Learning on a reciprocal basis.

Require document:
Complete and submit Annex A.
1 year (to be renewed 1 month before expiry).One-time administrative charge of S$20 plus GST.
Higher Degree Students from IHLsOnly postgraduate students who are currently studying in local government-funded Institutions of Higher Learning may apply.

Require document:
A letter from the Registrar's Office, stating the full name, student's status, and the duration on the course or programme.
1 year from the applicable registration date.S$150 per annum plus GST or based on reciprocal arrangement.
NIE Retired Academic StaffRetired full-time academic staff who have served in the National Institute of Education for at least 10 continuous years prior to retiring from the Institute may apply. They must be resident in Singapore.1 year (to be renewed 1 month before expiry).One-time administrative charge of S$20 plus GST.
Personal MembershipProfessionals and individuals who are engaged in education-related research projects will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Teaching staff of private tertiary institutions and students enrolled in distance-learning programmes or local private educational organisations may apply.

Documentary proof of study or research.
1 year from the applicable registration date.S$300 per annum plus GST.
Senior Government OfficersChief Executive Officers and directors of government or quasi-government departments are granted loan privileges on a case-by-case basis. MOE senior officers, including curriculum specialists of CPDD, may also apply.

Require document:
Complete and submit Annex A.
As determined by Chief Librarian, LIBRIS, based on the length of the project or requirement.One-time administrative charge of S$20 plus GST.
Teacher MemberPrincipals and teachers of government or government-aided schools, independent schools and junior colleges in Singapore that are listed on the MOE School Directory (https://www.moe.gov.sg/schoolfinder) may apply.

Complete and submit Annex A.
1 year (to be renewed 1 month before expiry).One-time administrative charge of S$20 plus GST.

 

 

COMPANY MEMBERSHIP

Corporate MembershipGovernment Departments, Statutory Boards, Registered Charities and Institutions of a Public Character (IPC) that are registered with the Charities Unit, Ministry of Culture, Community & Youth (MCCY). Refer to https://www.charities.gov.sg/ for more information.
 
Require document:
Documentary proof of study or research.
Membership card is transferable and is valid for entry to NIE Library by only one employee at a time.

S$500 per annum plus GST per membership card.

Preferred rate of S$300 per annum plus GST for charitable welfare organisations.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • LIBRIS reserves the right to approve or disapprove any application and is not required to disclose the reason for rejecting an application.

 

  • LIBRIS reserves the right to terminate or cancel any membership or permit without refund in the event that a member is found to have breached library rules or committed copyright infringement.

 

  • For walk-in applicants, LIBRIS reserves the right not to approve applications or issue membership cards on the same day. We only accept payment by cheque, NETS and CashCard for approved applicants.

 

  • For membership categories with annual subscription fees, the expiry date will be one year from the applicable registration or renewal date. For example, if a member is registered on 2 June 2018, the membership expiry date will be 1 June 2019.

 

  • Membership fees and administrative charges paid are not refundable, while membership cards are not transferable unless stated otherwise.

 

  • Certain materials and facilities may only be accessed by NIE staff and students. Due to licensing agreement regulations, external members may only access selected e-resources with the library premises.
