Exhibition on Social and Emotional Learning Children's Books

SEL

Curious about how educators can make use of picture books for their students’ social and emotional growth and development?

The students of MHA 906 & MPS 909: Using Multicultural Children’s Literature to Facilitate Social and Emotional Learning among Exceptional Learners cordially invite you to explore social and emotional learning themes in picture books (such as bullying, kindness, empathy, dealing with loss and grief, mindfulness, social justice, portrayal of special needs and high ability in picture books, among others); and how teachers can provide access to reading materials on self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship management, and responsible decision-making.

The library exhibit will run from 8 Nov to 14 Nov 2018 and will be located on Level 3 of the library.

This event is a collaboration between the NIE Library and Dr Myra Garces-Bacsal from Early Childhood and Special Needs Education Academic Group (ECSE) who is the Course Instructor for MHA 906 and MPS 909.
