User Guide - 360 Link


360 Link is an OpenURL link resolver that provides linking to full-text articles in databases subscribed by the library. A click on the linking button in the search results leads you to a page with hyperlink(s) to the full text of the article or to the journal or database that contains the article.

1.  Searching and Linking from Databases

360 Link allows you to link from a citation in a database to the full-text article in other subscribed databases.  


2.  Searching and Linking from Google Scholar (

360 Link allows you to retrieve full-text articles in library subscribed databases from search results in Google Scholar.


Steps to activate the linking in Google Scholar if you are searching from off campus:

a. Connect to
b.Click Scholar Preferences
c.Type National Institute of Education in Library Links and click Find Library
d.Check the box next to National Institute of Education
e. Click Save Preferences


3.  Searching for an Article from the 360 Link Search Page

If you are working from a bibliography/reading list or have a citation in hand, go to the 360 Link search page at:

a. Searching by using some or all information in a citation


 b. Searching by using DOI or PMID number 



The linking button is not always available in the search results because

  • the Library does not have a subscription to the journal (Tip: Contact Research & Information Services for assistance)
  • the journal does not have an online version (Tip: Search the library catalogue for a print version)
  • the online version of the journal does not support OpenURL (Tip: Search the library catalogue for journal availability)
